CalendarNag (2026)
This happened to me all the time:
- A meeting approaches
- I get a reminder notification (10 minutes early)
- I dismiss the reminder notification
- Then 10 minutes after the meeting starts I get a slack, “Are you joining?”
The problem is that:
- I hate leaving the notification window open.
- As soon as I dismiss the notification window I forget about the meeting in 30 seconds.
So I made CalendarNag. The main features are:
- The notification window reappears at configurable increments as the event approaches. By default I have this set to 10, 3, 1, and 0 minutes.
- Configurable colors/sounds per interval-remaining.
- The notification window reappears at each interval even if you previously dismissed it.
Since I’ve started using this my meeting miss rate went from 25% -> 1%.
CalendarNag sits out of your way in the menu bar.
It connects to Apple’s EventKit, so can see any event in your Apple Calendar (or calendars it connects to.) It can also directly connect to any Google Calendar.
This is one of the first 100% vibe coded apps I made. It was always a problem where the nuisance was never enough to overcome the energy required to hand-code a solution.
